Going back to the catacombs in the 1st century, Christians have prayed for the faithful departed, especially with the prayers of the Mass. Beginning with All Souls' Day on November 2nd, we particularly emphasize praying for the dead during the month of November.
This reminds us that Christ unites us to our loved ones who have died and that we can pray for them to be liberated from sin and rest in the peace.
Earlier this week, our middle schoolers went to Calvary Cemetery. The Mass was prayed for all the faithful departed and the poor souls in purgatory. May we all pray for the faithful departed this month, as an act of faith and hope.
Eternal rest unto them, O Lord.
And let perpetual light shine upon them.
May they rest in peace.
May the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Walkway Demolition Update
The demolition crews have made significant progress on removing the walkway roof and supports. A crane is needed to remove the bells, but that will not be available until next Tuesday (November 10). Please do not park in the circle driveway and avoid the northern side of the church this weekend.
